Did You Have Unwanted Guests In Your Yard On Memorial Day?

Holidays are a time to enjoy your family and friends.  Perhaps you like playing games in Central Mass mosquito control for backyard partiesthe yard, grilling hot dogs and burgers, or watching TV on your deck or patio.  Summer is short, so making the most of it is important.  If you are like many Central Mass residents, you spend much of your time outdoors in your back yard.

One of the things you don’t want to do while enjoying your yard is entertaining unwanted guests.  You know the ones.  They make a nuisance of themselves and are constantly bothering you – mosquitoes!  Perhaps after this Memorial Day Weekend you decided, “enough is enough”.  It’s difficult to enjoy yourself when you’re concerned about keeping the Citronella candles burning and making sure every inch of skin is covered with repellent.  Preventing mosquito-borne illnesses can be a big job when you’re outside all day.

Keeping an eye on little Ann or Johnny and making sure they aren’t being bitten can be Mosquito up closetough.  You want your children and their friends playing and running around the yard having fun.  However, you also know all that activity attracts mosquitoes.  Mosquitoes are attracted to the carbon dioxide we breathe out and children playing make a lot of it.

If little Ann or Johnny is still a toddler and too young to run and play with the other children, you may not want to put insect repellent on them.  If they are under two years old, you definitely don’t want to use repellents.  If they are over two, you may worry about them getting it on their hands or having it run into their eyes when it gets hot and they perspire.  Of course, the hotter it is the more it needs to be reapplied.

We adults aren’t immune from mosquitoes either.  Relaxing, talking to friends reduces the carbon dioxide we breathe out, but any alcoholic beverage will attract mosquitoes.  Being sedentary makes it easier for mosquitoes to hone in on our exact location when attracted by the alcohol.

If you have a backyard pool, swimmers are somewhat shielded from being bitten while in the Mosquitoes and waterwater.  However, once they come out of the pool they have the most exposed skin of anyone in the yard.  Lactic acid produced by exercising is a mosquito attractant according to a NBC news article and is one reason some of us are “mosquito magnets”.  Swimmers coming out of the pool are like glow sticks to mosquitoes.

Effective Central Mass mosquito control is where it’s at!

Let your yard be home to your family and guests at the upcoming July 4th weekend.  It’s not often residents of Worcester, Lowell, Chelmsford, Tewksbury and the other cities in Central Mass get to celebrate July 4th in their yard over a 3-day weekend.  Be protected while making the most of this holiday.  Take advantage of a professionally-applied mosquito control for your Central Mass yard.  Take back your yard this summer and keep out the uninvited guests you don’t want to see.
